Retride has never been tested itself, so its side effects are unknown. At much higher doses, BHB salts mainly caused stomach upset such as nausea and diarrhea. Starting keto can bring keto flu for one to two weeks. People on diabetes, heart, kidney, blood-pressure or water pills, or on a low-sodium diet, should ask a doctor first.
Does Retride have side effects?
Retride itself has never been tested in a published study, so its exact side effects are unknown. What we know comes from research on BHB salts at much larger doses and from the label's own cautions.
Those studies point to stomach and gut upset as the most common problem (Mohib et al., 2025). The whole Retride blend is 60 mg a day, far below the grams used in that research.
Most likely
Mild stomach upset, the main side effect reported for BHB salts at study doses.
Diet-related
Keto flu from cutting carbs: headaches, tiredness and cramps for one to two weeks.
Needs a doctor
Anyone on diabetes, heart, kidney, blood-pressure or water pills, or on a low-sodium diet.
What does the Retride label say about safety?
The Retride label asks three groups to talk to a physician before use: pregnant or nursing mothers, anyone under 18, and anyone with a known medical condition. It also says not to exceed the recommended dose.
The rest of the safety text covers handling. Keep the bottle away from children, and skip any bottle with a damaged or missing seal.
| Label line | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Do not exceed recommended dose | Two capsules a day is the full serving. More is not better. |
| Pregnant or nursing mothers | Ask your physician first. No study covers this group. |
| Children under the age of 18 | Ask a physician first. The label suggests adult use. |
| Known medical condition | Ask your physician before you start, even for a mild condition. |
| Keep out of the reach of children | Store the bottle up high or locked away. |
| Do not use if safety seal is damaged or missing | Do not take capsules from that bottle; call the order desk. |
| Keep away from heat, light and humidity | Store it in a cool, dry place with the cap closed. |
No stimulant is listed on the label. The capsule shell is gelatin, which is made from animal collagen (Vegetarian Resource Group, n.d.).
Can the BHB salts in Retride upset your stomach?
BHB salts can upset the stomach at high doses. In one study, a high-dose ketone salt drink caused the most gut symptoms, including diarrhea in 3 of 15 people (Stubbs et al., 2019).
A 2025 review of 51 studies found that side effects of ketone products were mostly mild nausea, bloating and diarrhea, and more likely at higher doses (Mohib et al., 2025). Those studies used grams of BHB. The whole Retride blend weighs 60 mg.
Stomach signs to watch for
- Nausea or bloating after a dose
- Loose stools or diarrhea
- Cramps or an upset stomach that keeps coming back
How much magnesium, calcium and sodium is in Retride?
The label does not say how much of each mineral Retride holds. It only gives the total: a 60 mg blend per serving, and that weight already includes the minerals.
So each mineral share must be smaller than 60 mg. That is tiny next to official limits, and next to the mineral load in research doses (Buga et al., 2021).
| Mineral | Retride (whole blend) | Official reference | One serving in a 24 g/day study |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magnesium | Under 60 mg (share not printed) | 350 mg/day upper limit from supplements (NIH ODS, 2026) | 57 mg |
| Calcium | Under 60 mg (share not printed) | 2,000-2,500 mg/day adult upper limit (NIH ODS, n.d.) | 570 mg |
| Sodium | Under 60 mg (share not printed) | Daily Value under 2,300 mg (FDA, 2024) | 1,874 mg |

Even with no breakdown, the math is simple. The whole blend cannot hold more than 60 mg of anything.
Most Americans already eat about 3,400 mg of sodium a day. A share of a 60 mg blend adds very little to that.
Can starting keto with Retride cause keto flu?
Starting the keto diet the Retride label suggests can cause keto flu. Cleveland Clinic says some people get headaches, tiredness, cramps and an upset stomach for about one to two weeks (Cleveland Clinic, 2026).
These symptoms come from the diet change, not from a capsule. The advice is to drink water and get enough electrolytes.
Ketosis on a diet is not the same as ketoacidosis. Ketosis means the body burns fat for fuel. Diabetic ketoacidosis is a life-threatening emergency (Cleveland Clinic, 2022).
Diet ketones usually stay below ketoacidosis levels, but it can still happen, so check with a provider (MedlinePlus, 2025). A keto supplement does not put you in ketosis by itself (Cleveland Clinic, 2023).
Which medicines need a doctor's check before Retride?
Diabetes, heart, kidney, blood-pressure and water pills all need a doctor's check before Retride or a keto diet. A low-sodium diet belongs on the same list.
Supplements can interact with medicines, and natural does not always mean safe (NCCIH, 2019). Ketone drinks also lowered blood sugar slightly in short trials (Falkenhain et al., 2022).
| You take or follow | Why to ask first |
|---|---|
| Diabetes medicine, especially SGLT2 inhibitors | A keto diet and ketone products change blood sugar and ketones. Your doctor should plan this with you. |
| Diuretics (water pills) | Ask before adding any mineral salt product, even a small one. |
| Blood-pressure or heart medicine | Ask before adding a product that contains sodium BHB. |
| Kidney medicine or kidney disease | Too much calcium may raise the risk of kidney stones. |
| A low-sodium diet | BHB is sold as mineral salts, including sodium BHB. |
| Any other prescription drug | Show the full label to your doctor or pharmacist. |

Is Retride contaminated or untested? What we can and cannot say
We cannot say Retride has been lab tested, because no independent lab report is published. The lot and CoA numbers on file are draft labels, not lab proof.
Weight-loss products as a group have been found with hidden drugs (NCCIH, 2019). That is a category warning, not a finding about Retride. The FDA also does not approve supplements before they are sold (FDA, 2022).

Do not use a bottle with a damaged or missing safety seal.
The panel should show a 60 mg blend of three BHB salts. Our batch check page explains the lot reference.

Retride side effects: common questions
Questions people type into Google and Bing, answered from the label and the sources on this page.
What are the side effects of keto BHB pills?
In studies of large BHB salt doses, the main side effects were stomach and gut problems such as nausea, bloating and diarrhea. Retride itself has never been tested, so its own side effects are unknown.
Can BHB salts cause diarrhea or stomach upset?
Yes, at high doses. In one study, a high-dose ketone salt drink caused diarrhea in 3 of 15 people. Those drinks held grams of BHB, while the whole Retride blend is 60 mg.
Do keto pills cause headaches?
Headaches are a common sign of keto flu when people cut carbs, according to Cleveland Clinic. Our sources do not link headaches to a 60 mg BHB blend itself. If a headache is severe or lasts, stop and call your doctor.
Can exogenous ketones cause keto flu?
Keto flu comes from starting the keto diet itself. Cleveland Clinic lists headaches, tiredness, cramps and upset stomach for about one to two weeks. Water and enough electrolytes can help.
Is too much magnesium from supplements harmful?
It can be. NIH sets the adult upper limit for supplemental magnesium at 350 mg a day, because high doses often cause diarrhea, nausea and cramps. The whole Retride blend weighs 60 mg, so its magnesium share is far below that.
Can BHB supplements raise blood pressure because of sodium?
Large BHB salt doses can carry a lot of sodium. One study serving held 1,874 mg. Retride's whole blend is 60 mg, but anyone with high blood pressure or on a low-sodium diet should still ask a doctor first.
Do keto pills interact with medications?
Supplements can interact with medicines, NCCIH warns. People on diabetes drugs (especially SGLT2 inhibitors), diuretics, or blood-pressure, heart or kidney medicines should talk to a doctor before any ketone product.
Can keto supplements hurt your kidneys?
No study has tested Retride and kidney health. Too much calcium may raise the risk of kidney stones, but the 60 mg blend holds very little. People with kidney problems or on kidney medicine should ask a doctor first.
Are weight-loss supplements ever contaminated with hidden drugs?
Yes, it happens in the weight-loss category, according to NCCIH. That is a warning about the category, not a finding about Retride. Buy from the authorized seller and check the seal.
When should I stop taking a supplement and see a doctor?
Stop and call your doctor if you have ongoing stomach trouble, a rash, a racing heart, or anything that worries you. Severe symptoms such as trouble breathing or fainting need emergency care.
