Retride Ingredients: Three BHB Salts in One 60 mg Blend

Written by the Retride editorial team

Last updated · Who reviewed this page · How we write and review

Quick answer

Retride contains three BHB salts, magnesium, calcium and sodium beta-hydroxybutyrate, in one 60 mg proprietary blend per 2 capsules. No single amounts are printed, and the 60 mg includes the minerals. Human BHB-salt studies used about 5 to 30 g a day, roughly 80 to 500 times more. Other ingredients: cellulose, gelatin and magnesium stearate.

What are the ingredients in Retride?

Retride has three active ingredients: magnesium BHB, calcium BHB and sodium BHB. All three share one 60 mg proprietary blend per serving of 2 capsules.

The label names each salt but gives no single amounts. Flip a card to see what human studies used and what they found.

Magnesium beta-hydroxybutyrate, inside the 60 mg blend

What studies used

About 12-24 g of BHB per drink in salt studies

Salt drinks raised blood ketones far less than ketone esters. The label does not say how much magnesium BHB is in Retride. (Stubbs et al., 2017)

Calcium beta-hydroxybutyrate, inside the 60 mg blend

What studies used

About 24 g a day of BHB salts for 6 weeks

On a low-calorie keto diet, BHB salts did not add weight or fat loss over placebo. (Buga et al., 2021)

03Ketone salt

Sodium BHB

Share not listed

Sodium beta-hydroxybutyrate, inside the 60 mg blend

What studies used

About 10 g a day of BHB salts for 8 weeks

With diet and walking, BHB salts did not give a significant extra drop in weight. (Roeth et al., 2025)

What is BHB, the core ingredient in Retride?

BHB stands for beta-hydroxybutyrate. It is one of the ketones your liver makes when carbs are scarce and the body burns fat for fuel instead of sugar, a state called ketosis.

That natural state is not the same as diabetic ketoacidosis, which is a medical emergency (Cleveland Clinic, 2022). Ketones also rise on a very low-carb keto diet, usually to safe levels (MedlinePlus, 2025).

Why does Retride use BHB salts?

BHB on its own is an acid, so makers bind it to a mineral. The result is a dry salt powder that fits in a capsule.

Supplement BHB is called an exogenous ketone, meaning it comes from outside the body. The trade-off of the salt form is that each capsule carries minerals as well as BHB.

BHB part

The ketone itself. It is the same molecule in all three salts.

Mineral part

Magnesium, calcium or sodium. It adds weight to the 60 mg blend.

Capsule form

Two gelatin capsules hold the full blend for one day.

Magnesium BHB in Retride

Magnesium BHB is listed first in the Retride blend. It pairs BHB with magnesium, a mineral the body uses every day.

Adults should keep magnesium from supplements under 350 mg a day, since high doses often cause diarrhea (NIH ODS, 2026). The whole Retride blend is 60 mg, so it cannot come close to that limit.

Calcium BHB in Retride

Calcium BHB is the second salt on the Retride panel. It joins BHB to calcium, the mineral known for bones and teeth.

The adult upper limit for calcium is 2,000 to 2,500 mg a day, depending on age (NIH ODS, n.d.). A 60 mg blend adds only a sliver.

Sodium BHB in Retride

Sodium BHB is the third salt in the Retride blend. It ties BHB to sodium, the mineral in table salt.

The Daily Value is less than 2,300 mg, and the average American eats about 3,400 mg (FDA, 2024).

How much BHB is in Retride compared with the research?

Retride holds 60 mg of blend per day, and human BHB-salt studies used about 5 to 30 g. That makes the Retride amount roughly 80 to 500 times smaller, and the 60 mg even includes the minerals.

A whole bottle holds about 1,800 mg of blend. That is still less than half of a single 5 g study dose.

Larger doses still did not deliver weight results. At 10 g a day (Roeth et al., 2025) and 24 g a day (Buga et al., 2021), BHB salts added no significant weight or fat loss over placebo. Our article on how much BHB studies use covers each trial.

What this means. No study has tested the finished Retride formula. Every finding here comes from BHB salts at gram doses, given on their own or with a diet.

Do the minerals in Retride add up to much?

No. Even if the whole 60 mg blend were one mineral, it would stay far below each safety mark.

Large BHB-salt doses are another story. One study serving held 1,874 mg of sodium, 570 mg of calcium and 57 mg of magnesium (Buga et al., 2021).

What else is in a Retride capsule?

Beyond the blend, Retride lists three other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, gelatin and magnesium stearate. They help form and fill the capsule and are not actives.

The gelatin shell comes from animal collagen, so the capsules are not vegetarian or vegan (Vegetarian Resource Group, n.d.). No caffeine or other stimulant appears on the label.

Retride ingredients: common questions

Questions people type into Google and Bing, answered from the label and the sources on this page.

What is beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB)?

BHB is one of the ketones your liver makes when carbs run low and the body turns to fat for fuel. Supplements sell it bound to a mineral.

What are BHB salts?

A BHB salt is BHB joined to a mineral such as magnesium, calcium or sodium. Retride uses all three, inside one 60 mg blend.

What is the difference between magnesium, calcium and sodium BHB?

The BHB part is the same in each. Only the mineral attached to it changes, and the label does not say how much of each one is in the blend.

Are exogenous ketones the same as ketones your body makes?

Exogenous means taken in from outside. BHB salt drinks in studies were about half L-BHB, a form the body makes little of, and they raised the main D-BHB form far less than ketone esters (Stubbs et al., 2017).

Do BHB salts put you in ketosis?

No. A Cleveland Clinic dietitian says keto supplements do not put you in ketosis by themselves and do not replace a keto diet (Cleveland Clinic, 2023).

How much BHB is in Retride?

The whole blend is 60 mg per 2-capsule serving, and that weight includes the minerals. How much of it is pure BHB is not published.

Is BHB safe to take every day?

Studies of BHB salts at gram doses mostly reported mild stomach and gut upset, more often at high doses (Mohib et al., 2025). Retride has no safety study of its own.

What is the difference between ketone salts and ketone esters?

Salts bind BHB to minerals, while esters bind it to an alcohol-type molecule. At the same dose, esters raised blood ketones much higher than salts (Stubbs et al., 2017).

Do BHB supplements have a lot of sodium?

At research doses, yes: one study serving carried 1,874 mg of sodium (Buga et al., 2021). Retride’s entire blend weighs 60 mg, so its sodium is a small fraction of that.
